DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to gather at Colorado Springs City Hall on August 31st at 6:00 pm to commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day. \nThe evening’s program will offer a space for remembering those who have passed and coming together for those that have been left behind. \nWe will have City Councilor David Leinweber read a proclamation from the city to commemorate the day and offer remarks. \nIn addition\, the evening will include information about how to recognize and respond to an overdose\, stories from those with lived experience\, Narcan and test strip distribution\, and of course\, opportunities for the community to commemorate those we have lost to overdose. \nCommunity organizations that offer SUD treatment and recovery support will also be present for those who are interested. \nWe will have a purple ribbon sculpture that people can attach names\, photos\, and written remembrances to if they would prefer not to speak. If you would like to have your remembrance picture printed for a purple ribbon\, please submit it here. Hey 719 will be printing them at no cost to loved ones.
